Utopian Society Essay
11-4
5-23-08
If a Utopian society is what we are all wanting, how come we can’t agree on how we want it? A Utopian society is built to be the most peaceful place in the word. In this essay I will explain what problem I encountered while in the group. I will also compare the United States to our Utopian society and see which one is better. I will state my opinion as well. There where a couple of things that went wrong in the group
My group was the power source group. We have to figure out what source of energy is going to power our Utopian Society, the whole society. We determined that the society was going to go off of Solar, Hydro, and Wind power. We all came up with the idea as a group and I feel as though we should all get credit for it. There were a few people that didn’t really know what to do in the group, and then there were people that just thought they knew everything to do. I don’t think those people were courteous to the people that didn’t really know what they were doing. We all had part in this group project, even if it was the smallest part, like speaking about it in front of the whole eleventh grade. My parts were small but they matter in big ways.
Although my parts were not as big as others, they really mattered in the group for the project. One of my parts in this project was to think of a source of energy to power the Utopian society. I thought wind power was a good source of energy and it could help power the Utopian society. I also had the duty of panting and building the roof of the house. I had to measure and glue the roof together, I also had to paint and decorate it as well. In addition, I had to help build the house. The inside is not yet finished but it is almost done. In some way, our Utopian society is a little like a America (United States)
As like America, we have a system of punishment, its called P.O.P. (Place of Punishment). It’s like jail in the United States except the fact that we don’t have bail. Of you do the crime; you do the time, all the time. In addition, we have a system of currency as well. Instead of money like United states (cash and coins), we use cards, called Gwap. All the money we get goes straight through the cards and the cards have a finger print on them so every time you use the card; the finger has to match the print in order to use it. The United states have credit cards that have theft control, but their theft control is not as protected as ours.
Finale, this whole building a Utopian society was a great idea to do as a 11th grade project. There were challenges that I thought I couldn’t do in a group that I met and accomplished. There is more to learn about a Utopian Society and I wish to learn about it in the near future. I learned that even in a Utopian society, there can be some problems there as well. If there weren’t any type of problems then we wouldn’t have a place of punishment (P.O.P). Nothing and Nobody in this world is perfect, we can try to make something perfect, but we are not God so we can’t really make a perfect society

Utopian Society Reflection

11-4
Since the beginning of 11th grade, we have had to compile all of the components of perfection to create a utopian society. In the process, we had to brainstorm about all of the problems that cause destruction to our present society and determine how we could change these things to construct a perfect world. All of the students were distributed throughout different groups that would be the different components in building the society such as, government, arts & culture, etc. Not only did we have to converse amongst our individual groups, we also had to converse with other groups in order to agree on how our society was going to be made up. This caused a bit of conflict between groups; however, this helped us determine what type of elements we were going to incorporate into our individual decisions, and this helped us compare and contrast our utopian society to the threads of destruction identified as the United States.
During the process of setting the foundations for our utopia, conflicts arose over key issues. Amongst the conflicts, one of the most relevant was determining the per capita or the number of people who will inhabit our society. Another issue was trying to determine the society’s geological features. Following the previous issue, was the basic structure of its architecture. In order to resolve these frivolous issues, we put the groups related to the issue in charge of resolving that particular issue.
My group was in charge of determining what the utopia was going to be energized without polluting and/or contaminating its atmosphere. We had to determine and research what we would use that would be eco-friendly as well as what would be a renewable, abundant source that the society could rely on instead of worrying about its depletion. However, we had to keep in mind the ideas of each group. Thus, conversing and receiving ideas from other groups.
When comparing and contrasting the United States to our utopian society, there was nothing to compare. The United States is greedy, causing the depletion of everything it receives. In our utopia, all of our resources will be supplied in abundance so our inhabitants will thrive peacefully. In the United States, we are facing the demise of the entire human race due to our own greed.
In summation, as a whole, my group and I feel that in all reality you cannot create a true utopian society. Our forefathers that laid the foundation for this country died with the thought of a utopia and nearly 200 years later, the utopia that they dreamed of now faces its own demise. It is not human nature to be perfect; therefore, whatever society is built upon this fact will, sooner or later, face its own depletion.
Some problems that were encountered were that the people were not all that fascinated with the idea of how the fod was going to be. For instance everybody in this society has to be a vegan. In our groups opinion being a vegan is more healthy and it can prevent health problems. Also we were having issues with the way everybody was running things. Not so much how it was being ran but we just had to get a count on how many people would be in the society so we could hav e enough food.
There is a big difference between the UnitedStates and the Utopion Society. Because in this world everything will be perfect no crime no sadness everything will be intact. Also the United States have way different systems then this new world. This government will be more fair to people then the United States.
People always complain about the governtment and how unfair it is. Well everything in this government will meet everyone's needs. All children will be able to feel safe in school and get the upmost best education. From the age three children will be able to go to school and learn the basics just in case they can't get it at home. Even when you et up into a mature age you will have the choice of a free education.
Everyone in this society will feel safe no one will have to worry about anything going wrong with financial issues. If someone does have an issue there is matters that can take of that. Also the food choice is way different from the United States. See in the United States everyone has a choice of fatty foods that they can choose from. But in this new world food is limited but for a good cause because we want to keep people healthy and prevent all types of health problems.
I belive this society will provide a happy healthy environment. No one an worry about cholestrol or all types of bad things that happens when you eat the wrong foods for your body. Money can't be an issue there are ways to help people out with money. Education is covered everyone should be happy and this was a good project because it taught us to work together and to learn to create something perfect even thought it was hard dealing with certain group memebers it teaches to have patience.
